Cooking your own meals can be a daunting challenge at times; however, with the right tools inside your kitchen, meal prep doesn’t have to be such a hassle. Be mindful, though, that not all kitchen gadgets are good buys. You might think that they’re all good, but the reality is that most of them just might spend their time collecting dust. Don’t worry, though; because your kitchen deserves the best kitchen gadgets and we’ve got some lined up for you. If you want a kitchen that’s filled with good value items, this read is for you!
- Pressure cookers (similar to an Instant Pot) are one of the most sought-after gadgets for kitchens. A pressure cooker can be used to prepare meals using only half the time it takes for an ordinary slow cooker. When you want home-cooked meals but don’t have the time, a pressure cooker solves the problem for you.
- Air fryers are small, concentrated ovens that produce crisp skin-on fries, meats, veggies, and more without the oil of frying food. It’s healthier, and it allows you to prep foods faster than the typical way of cooking.
- No kitchen is complete without a blender. In case you’re not into the big, bulky blenders, there are definitely smaller options like a Ninja or a Nutribullet; or, you could even consider getting an immersion blender. These blenders are smaller and easier to manage and can make individual portions, too.
- Waffle irons are normally used to make waffles, but there are other uses for them, too. You can cook hash browns, omelets, grilled cheese, and even cookies in a waffle iron. A waffle iron is a great multi-purpose tool you’ll use often!
- A wok is a sauté pan that has a rounded bottom and smooth sides. Sure, a few pots and pans will get the job done, but for stir-fry, sauces, and soups, a wok is best. Their long handles let you hold it over a burner and shake and stir the food inside, heating the ingredients quickly and evenly. A wok will take some time to practice, but once you have a good handle on how to use it, you will want to have one with you in any kitchen.
- Do you like avocados? If so, your kitchen will need an avocado slicer! If you typically use a knife to open and slice avocados, you should be very careful, since those avocados can be quite slippery. An avocado slicer is the safer way not only to open an avocado but to remove the pit and shell and create perfect-sized slices, too.
- Do you find yourself always reaching for canned food? If yes, then your cooking is not complete without a reliable canopener. You want to get one that’s a mix of good quality and affordability because the cheaper can openers will end up costing you more in the long run. The cheaper ones can not be trusted to not break or fail when you need to use them the most.
- If you’ve not heard of a swivel peeler before, then you should look into adding one to your kitchen. It’s most useful when you are cooking potatoes, squash, carrots, or other vegetables. If so, you will need a quality peeler that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, and slices through a vegetables’ thick outer skin with ease. Essentially, a swivel peeler will automatically adjust to the surface’s angle while you peel so that your strokes are efficiently peeling off the skin of the vegetable or fruit.
